The Ministry Behind The Misfits

Mission Statement

Misfit Ministries exists to rescue, restore, and raise up the next generation of young leaders—beginning in Akron and Summit County, with a vision that reaches far beyond. We are a faith-driven, street-level movement grounded in the belief that every young person, no matter their past, carries the potential for leadership, transformation, and purpose.

Our mission is to intervene at the critical intersections of addiction, incarceration, gang involvement, and hopelessness. We are committed to keeping at-risk youth off the streets, out of violent cycles, and free from the grip of substance abuse. Through intentional mentorship, holistic discipleship, and radical, Christ-centered love, we walk with young people as they transition from juvenile detention or crisis into community, purpose, and freedom.

We provide practical support—ranging from life skills training and spiritual formation to creative outlets and job readiness—while nurturing deep relationships that model trust, accountability, and unconditional belonging. Our programs are designed not just to change behavior, but to heal identity and awaken destiny.

At the core of Misfit Ministries is a relentless dedication to breaking generational chains of trauma, crime, and poverty. By standing in the gap for those written off by society, we build bridges back into it—one soul, one story, one future at a time. Our mission is not just to rehabilitate youth but to raise up a remnant of resilient, redeemed leaders who will change their communities from the inside out.

The woman has blonde hair tied back and is wearing a pink sleeveless top. They are smiling, with the man's arm around the woman's shoulder.
